Home Office : Etiquette at Work

home office telephone Ignoring proper telephone conduct could hurt your business!
Whether you own a large company or just managing a moderately-manned home office, answering the phone could "make" or "break" your business opportunities.

While it may seem reasonable to let the phone ring a couple of times or let an automated machine attend to the caller's ring, a good-mannered, well-placed response of a "live" human voice to an inquiry could work great for both of you and your business.

Here is a great article on improving your Telephone Skills which could do great things for your business.

Homely Modern Office

Recently we moved our office from a spacious 60 sqmts/P12k montlhly rental commercial office to a 40sqmts home office. This is part of our cost-saving moves to improve our operational budget and at the same time, to be able to provide a 24/7 support service to our clients since we never have to leave the office! .Our home office is well-equipped as a modern office should be but I still tried to maintain a "homely" atmosphere outside the office enclosure. This set-up below of a side table is one that I think stands out. (Note: Our family-owned company, LEENTech Network Solutions, designed, maintained & host websites. Please feel free to contact us for your website marketing needs.)

Side Table Set-up

This is the centerpiece of the area outside the main office where a "quick discussion" can took place anytime. I decided not include this area in the main office so it can both serve as a meeting place & as a reception area for our "passing-by" clients.

Home Office: Caring for your valued printer

I know this is not a "technical " blog site. However, due to "necessity", I figured I should made a post about the topic . Anyway, it is just a simple reminder that I think anybody can easily remember and implement. It's about caring for your beloved printer that happens to be set-up with a Continuous Ink System! At our office, every now & then I was called to check the malfunctioning unit & and/or at times, is being requested to bring the printer to a repair shop. Maybe having the "How To Care..." manual posted on my blog will help me in reminding everybody (including me!) of the proper caring for this most valued office equipment.! By following the procedure, another benefit is the savings from repairs & lost time ! I hope this helps you too!

How to care for your printer with Continuous Ink System:
Note: Continuous Ink System (CIS) consists of a high-capacity ink reservoir attached to a cartridge via secure tubing. The tubing acts as a vacuum to extract ink from the reservoir and keep the cartridge full of ink. This reservoir allows printing for an extended period of time without running out. Though the term "continuous" means a longer printing time without refilling, maintaining the parts of the system should be given regular maintenance.

1. Use your printer in moderation. Non-stop and heavy printing may damage your priner head since it uses heat to print. Even though you are using continuous ink and may have unlimited ink, your printer is still a machine and shall be used in moderation.

2. Use your printer regularly. Your printer does work best when used regularly so it is recommended that you turn the printer on and make a small number of prints using all colors at least every seven days. Not using your printer for more than two weeks may cause your printer to head to clog.

3. Use quality papers. Do not use crumpled or paper lower than substance 18 to avoid paper jam. Paper jam might directly damage your printer head plate and sensor.

4. Use CISS properly.
a. Keep ink tank in the same level as the printer, CISS use PRESSURE to create continuous ink flow of the ink to the printer and changes on pressure may lead to LEAKAGE or stopping of continous ink flow. Leakage may damage the printer.
b. Make sure to remove air vent cover of your ink tank and replace it with filter. You don't have to close it again when you turn your printer off.
c. Make sure to maintain at least one third (1/3) of ink at the ink tank.

I hope this simple Do-It-Yourself way of maintaining your office printers works for you too!! It works for us now!
