Home Renovation

Recently, I discovered termite infestation on our ancestral house. The house was actually scheduled for a minor renovation of the bathroom and a bedroom and my discovery of the bug infestation was a blessing as the termites are just starting to do damage on the front part of the house. The bedroom and bathroom renovation which has an area of about 200 square feet cost us a moderate amount of approximately Php 50,000.00 including the labor. Majority of the cost was mostly on the new tiles, lavatory fixtures & repainting.

The termite infested area was a different story. The cost of repair is still counting up to this date. The amount has already reached Php100,000 mark and there are still a few more things to be done. Most of the work was centered on treating remaining wooden materials with anti-termite chemicals. Cement mix for the flooring are also mixed with a commercially available anti-termite chemical. The first floor of the 2-storey building is now entirely concrete and all original wooden posts were treated with termite-controlling before being covered with hollow blocks and mixed cement.

Here are a few shots of the renovated house frontage. Noticeably, the renovation of the front house includes the Eco-Stone design on the main post, the new aluminum sliding window & the plant box. Still for installation were lantern-type lighting on the 3 main post & the entrance flooring will be replaced with new 60x60cm ceramic tiles.
The remaining works are the right side part of the house which is also being concreted. (bye, bye termites!) The 108-sq. ft entertainment room is also on the finishing stage too.
