Slideshows Keep Getting Better

I must admit web slideshows just keep on getting better! Here's another one from PictureTrail! Well, you can't blame me if I don't get contented for just one or two softwares that runs my photo albums on the Web! This is what Changing Times is all about! Nothing is permanent...and web applications are no exceptions!

Speed Test Comparison After DSL Upgrade

Recently, I requested for an upgrade of our DSL broadband services from Php999 to Php1299. The upgraded package consist of broadband speed increase from 356kbps to 512kbps, a free NDD for one year from the date of upgrade and a 3 months moratorium for the price increase.

The upgrade was implemented a few days ago and here's the comparison of the speed before and after the upgrade.

NASA Television on YouTube

I have always been a space science enthusiast. It was my Dad who introduced me to it and as I grew up, my interest on this field of science never drifted. Along with my cousin, we formed a group we called Space Explorers. Our activities included making rocket models & creating scrapbooks out of the collection of photos we cut from magazines and newspapers. We attended science exhibits where we show off the space rocket models we built and also the numerous books and magazines NASA Educational Publications sent us. During the time, acquiring 8"x10" of autographed photos of the pioneering astronauts were a treasure for me! Oh, how times have changed! Now that I have my own blogsite, I am so excited to post the NASA Television on YouTube. I consider this is an even greater treasure!!

Water! Lot's of it! But its not from NAWASA!

Yes! There's plenty of water in our tank reservoir now. Two weeks ago, my daughter sent me a drill-powered water pump to help me solve our water crisis. NAWASA's water supply continues to be non-existent during the day. You have to wait past midnight to have your water containers get wet...and be filled with water along with some brown particles with it! By the way, water filters that you put at the tip of the faucet are very much in demand in our area too! Pls see attached photo. The tip of the hose has a filter but inspite of that, you can see the brown color of the water that comes out of the hose. The intensity of the "brownish" coloring varies..there are days that these are lighter. I have also tried different brands of filters to test which one last longer so I would not buy too often! We NEVER use NAWASA water for drinking. Ever since, we relied on filtered water for our drinking water. The water at the reservoir is also used for domestic cleaning only.

I just use the drill-powered water pump to transfer the water from the deep well to the overhead tank as it was not designed to suck water from the well up to the tank. It is still a manual effort to pump the water from the deep well but it's okay. There's a few of us at the household that can alternately pump up the water. Better than waiting till morning for NAWASA's water supply to fill our containers! Hooray! Thank you "Clarke" (that's the brand of the drill-powered water pump I have. And, thank you Chaps!)

Introduction to Internet

I just can't help but share this video about introduction to Internet. I have previously posted blogs about the topic on Internet and this one should top up what one has already learned about the Internet. And, just like what an old sayings teach us: keep acquiring knowledge but don't let it stay just within you...share it so you will have more space to accept more knowledge! Conficker Worm Still a Threat

The latest post from Yahoo!Tech says Conficker's treat is still very much real. Those people behind tracking the people behind Conficker says that there's already an estimated one to two million computers worldwide that are infected with Conficker. I just hope the $250,000 bounty for the tracking down of the creators of this computer worm helps! Read more about this news at Yahoo!Tech.
