NAWASA is NO AGUA!

nawasa has no water

Oh no! Let this be put on record: "The whole day of February 28, 2009, there is NO WATER in our faucet! No single drop of water on our plastic containers!"
"
How I wish it is election time again! Yes, how I wish it is. During those times there's always a big fire truck with a huge tarpaulin on the side of the truck saying:" LIBRENG TUBIG MULA KAY GMA" that is stationed on the neighborhood distributing water. But, it will still be on 2010. OMG!! We could be smelling like skunks by then! Our place is in Cavite, by the way!

Watch TV on Your PC

Well, this is one thing great when posting on a personal blog. You are not limited to any particular subject. Actually, it really depends on one's objective when setting up a blogsite. Mine is clear. Changing Times will cover the event that has happened & will still happen to me. Things that have affected these events & things that I knew will affect the events of my life in the future.(Who cares?)

This one's got to do with watching TV on you PC. Of course, you have heard of this before. In fact, I believe most of you have already explored the different ways on having your favorite TV programs viewed from your PC. But, personally, I don't mind reading another article guiding us on how to get TV programs and view it in your own PC. So, read on if you are still also interested. The article was from Yahoo!Tech.

Mystery Of Fish With Transparent Head

Here's another "latest" from the field of biology! (As my profile says, I am always fascinated of new discoveries - whatever field of science it is.) This is something about a transparent fish called "barreleye". This was posted by Mr David Pescovich & I want to share it with you. You can view the full post at boingboing!

My Daughter Is Also A Blogger

Mary Chapelle is now a blogger!

Several posts ago, I mentioned my daughter who always dream big when she was just a kid. She keeps telling me that someday she will tour the world. Well, on that earlier post, I put some pictures of her during her tour in Europe. She has been to other European and Asian countries but unfortunately I was not able to post & share them with you because I cannot retrieve the pictures she sent me.

I am making another post about my daughter again but this time I want to tell something about another one of her favorite things. And, that is writing! She as fond of writing on her diaries when she was still a kid. As she grew older, she began to enjoy doing scrapbooks and cutting papers, Papertolle is one of her favorite art store. Now, her latest pastime is writing a web blog! Yes, my daughter is now also a blogger! You can check out her blogsite titled Circle of Life.
Presently, Mary Chapelle is working as a nurse in U.K.. "Good luck on your blogging, daughter!"

Drill Powered Water Pump

drill powered water pump

drill powered water pump

I need a drill powered water pump for our home. I found several brands on the Net. Maybe there are previous users of such pump who can share their experiences with regard to the performance of this type of pump. Here are some brands I was able to search. My objective is to use it in transferring water from a container at ground level up to a container that has a height level of about 6 feet. Can I use it for the said purpose? Can anybody out there help me?

Network Over Your Existing Power Line

The Ads says: "Turn your existing home power lines into a high-speed network. Just plug Powerline into your existing power outlets. It is a perfect solution for high-speed connections in difficult to reach locations in your home."

This is really something! Connecting several phones inside your house using the power lines has been a technology that dated decades ago. But now, getting connected in the Internet through the power lines of your house is something that not an average person will claim to know. Please click here to view the detailed description of this new technology.

Christmas joke?

Time is really changing. I thought Christmas season ends on the celebration of the Three Kings, usually the first Sunday of the year. In our Barangay, Christmas is extended. As of today, February 24, all the Christmas lanterns are still on the lamp posts. (See photos!)

A week ago, our Barangay councilmen started taking out the Christmas lights. I expected that everything related to the celebration of the Yuletide season will be taken down. But, to my surprise, the Christmas lanterns were all still hanging as is on the same spot where they are during Christmas 2008.

Is this a gimmick? Or, is this what we called "katamaran"? Para nga naman wag na ikabit ulit sa Christmas 2009 eh di wag ng alisin. Buti sana kung me ilaw ung mga lantern, makakatulong para maliwanag sa gabi, Problem is, the lights of the Christmas lantern is not even working kaso putol ang kuryente. Ninakaw nung isang taon!

So this means, we will just let those lanterns deteriorate day in day out. Come stormy season I am sure most of them will be damaged! Then what! Buy a new one? And where will the budget come from...from the politicians who will be vying for an election? Galing ng Gimik!!

Enjoying a comedy bar show

zirkoh greenhills

comedy bar show Sitcom & Zirkoh
If you are a first time audience of a comedy bar show, better be prepared to get "shocked" and get "battered" and kinda "humiliated" ...in a fun way!

For two nights in a row, we brought our balikbayan visitor to a comedy bar show - the first one is at Sitcom, Las Pinas, and the other one is at Zirkoh Greenhills.

While we were able to "hide" the fact that we have a "balikbayan" companion, our group was never spared from the impromptu approaches & scrutinizing by the host guests on both shows. (You have to be careful in exposing a "balikbayan" companion, mayayari siya ka-do-donate!) I personally did not get away from being called a "naughty" by Daks Martin. Naughty was later on meant to be "no-tigasin"! Wala ng "L".. ha ha! However, I was spared on being brought up on the stage as participant on their "dance contest" with the EB Babes! (Thanks God!) But, later it was announced that I was spared because...the dance contest has an age limit! Ha..ha! Di na raw ako pwede! By the way, the winner of the contest was able to make "beso-beso" with the 7 pretty EB Babes...sayang!

All in all, we enjoyed being at the two shows. The Sitcom show at Las Pinas has Daks, Onse (and 5 other more guests), while Zirkoh comedy bar has Ate Gay, Rina, Daks (again, lagare si Daks sa mga shows ah!) with 4 others as the entry performers and later Wally & Jose Manalo. Much later, the EB Babes performed their forte..dancing with head banging and hair swinging. Great comedy bar shows..yes they were! Kailan kaya mauulit? Hmm. Maybe in another 2 years , when our relative balikbayan visit us again!

Very Dirty NAWASA water supply

The NAWASA water supply that goes into our house pipeline last February 14, around 1:00 A.M. was so shockingly dirty that I instinctively got my digital camera and took several pictures of flowing water coming out of the faucet and those that are inside our plastic water containers. I have previously reported this to NAWASA through text but so far no physical evidence that any remedial action is being taken.

Definitely, to this date, NAWASA water supply is not recommended for human consumption on our place! But to not able to use the water even for laundry is really something! Do we still need to write Malacanang so this can be fixed? Nakakahiya! Panghilamos niyo kaya iyan!

The vacation of my sister-in-law continues.
After the official package tour arranged by her travel agency, I was able to schedule for my sister-in-law a short visit on the following towns: Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pangasinan..and Baguio. Of course, its not all vacation for her. She went to her home province to lead a homily for her deceased father & auntie. As of this date, her last activity was attending a Valentine's concert at Manila Hotel which she enjoyed very much. An added bonus was the chance to be photographed with some known Philippine celebrities. More photos. More vacation photos. View Slide.

...St. Bernard & Me!..my interest on dogs!

love to have a st. bernard pet dog

Every once in a while, you got that chance to have your big smile caught on a camera together with a dog who is also willing to share a nice grin! This is one of those rare moments! Anong say niyo?

About St. Bernard Dogs

Original Author: Robert Leighton

The history of the St. Bernard dog would not be complete without reference being made to the noble work that he has done in Switzerland, his native land: how the Hospice St. Bernard kept a considerable number of dogs which were trained to go over the mountains with small barrels round their necks, containing restoratives, in the event of their coming across any poor travellers who had either lost their way, or had been overcome by the cold.

We have been told that the intelligent animals saved many lives in this way, the subjects of their deliverance often being found entirely buried in the snow.

The following is the description of the St. Bernard as drawn up by the members of the St. Bernard Club:

HEAD--The head should be large and massive, the circumference of the skull being more than double the length of the head from nose to occiput. From stop to tip of nose should be moderately short; full below the eye and square at the muzzle; there should be great depth from the eye to the lower jaw, and the lips should be deep throughout, but not too pendulous. From the nose to the stop should be straight, and the stop abrupt and well defined. The skull should be broad and rounded at the top, but not domed, with somewhat prominent brow.

EARS--The ears should be of medium size, lying close to the cheek, but strong at the base and not heavily feathered.

EYES--The eyes should be rather small and deep set, dark in colour and not too close together; the lower eyelid should droop, so as to show a fair amount of haw.

NOSE--The nose should be large and black, with well developed nostrils. The teeth should be level.

EXPRESSION--The expression should betoken benevolence, dignity, and intelligence.

NECK--The neck should be lengthy, muscular, and slightly arched, with dewlap developed, and the shoulders broad and sloping, well up at the withers.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF BODY--The chest should be wide and deep, and the back level as far as the haunches, slightly arched over the loins; the ribs should be well rounded and carried well back; the loin wide and very muscular.

TAIL--The tail should be set on rather high, long, and in the long-coated variety bushy; carried low when in repose, and when excited or in motion slightly above the line of the back.

LEGS--The fore-legs should be perfectly straight, strong in bone, and of good length; and the hind-legs very muscular. The feet large, compact, with well-arched toes.

SIZE--A dog should be at least 30 inches in height at the shoulder, and a bitch 27 inches (the taller the better, provided the symmetry is maintained); thoroughly well proportioned, and of great substance. The general outline should suggest great power and capability of endurance.

COAT--In the long-coated variety the coat should be dense and flat; rather fuller round the neck; the thighs feathered but not too heavily. In the short-coated variety, the coat should be dense, hard, flat, and short, slightly feathered on thighs and tail.

COLOUR AND MARKINGS--The colour should be red, orange, various shades of brindle (the richer colour the better), or white with patches on body of one of the above named colours. The markings should be as follows; white muzzle, white blaze up face, white collar round neck; white chest, forelegs, feet, and end of tail; black shadings on face and ears. If the blaze be wide and runs through to the collar, a spot of the body colour on the top of the head is desirable.

The weight of a dog should be from 170 lbs. to 210 lbs.; of a bitch 160 lbs. to 190 lbs. More about St. Bernard..

How to use Internet Explorer 7.0

internet explorer logo

A video tutorial is always the best form of teaching the "how-tos"! Here's a video tutorial guide in using Internet Explorer 7.0 from Expert Village. I am sure you will find the video tutorials a great help if you are still new (or "not-so-old) into using the Internet Explorer 7.0.

Using Yahoo Messenger!

yahoo messenger logo
Okay, so everybody is using Yahoo! Messenger! Right? Well, not quite. I am sure there will always be a number of people who are new to Internet and are still unfamiliar into using Yahoo!Messenger. My sister-in-law is one of them. Though I have already taught her the basics & that she is already getting familiar with it, I thought of posting the tutorial article on using the YM on my blog as a "refresher" for those who seldom use it or for those who are very new to it.
So, instead of googling further for help, all one has to do is to log on to my blogsite and check out the tutorial link. (Of course, you need to know first my blogsite name. Another option is to google my name & the result will lead you to my blogsite!) For the first-time users of Yahoo!Messenger (YM), help is on its way! Click the word help (if you have not done so yet!) and you will be led to proper use of YM.

Good luck into your voice and/or video chatting, or simply sending out short messages to your friends!

Blogging Mania!

Perfspot HomepageMy blogging activity leads me to a lot of things one of which is the continuous surfing on the world wide web. Eventually, my searching led me to the different kind of social websites. Honestly, I don't give much attention on social sites. That was "before". Yes, before I went into this blog mania! Somehow, as I progressed into sharing things & events with friends on the Net, there is something within me that changes my perception on social sites. So here I am now, getting fun looking for a good & nice social sites. Lately, I opened an account to Perfspot. I took a "print screen shot" of the homepage. Here's a part of the homepage I created. I find the site cool. I hope you too joined in! There's a lot of activities going on there!

Thousand Miles and 25 years Apart

Prodigalidad Boys relatives in the united states
I got hold of a photo of some of my cousins together with their kids taken at a place in the United States the other day. Suddenly, I felt that I am missing them! They left our country & decided to stay in the U.S.A. for good. They have been there for more than 25 years now.

Oh, yes! I am missing those days here in our town of Cavite, Philippines (Google says California is roughly 7,261 air miles distance!) when we are still on our teens doing what a typical teenager were doing - roughing around with other guys on a basketball game, grouping together singing the latest song of our favorite rock band or, having a night out courting girls!

When are you you guys coming back home! Drop me an email. You can also check out our own company website: www.leentechsystems.com to see what we are actually getting our hands at nowadays!

Missing My Blogs!

Sorry! I've been away for quite a while. The absence got nothing to do about me "quitting" my blogging! Far from it. It's just that this downing economy has really affected a lot of people all around the world, our country not excluded! Our export processing zone (in which our province has the most number of workforce) has been greatly affected and the nationwide newspapers keep showing figures of how many will be laid off or how much additional percent will be added to the current unemployment figures!

Our own website development business must be attended too with much more focus given on producing our products and services with an "extra, extra" high quality standard! This is the one best way that we think can still make us very competitive on the business!

The past weeks, with an extra effort, we have done and closed a few more good deals which tend to give us a hint that the company can get past through this global financial dilemma with as little problem as possible. But then again, I have to sacrifice something & that is trying to squeeze a little extra time on my blogging! I still think though I am doing okay with my blogs so far! Even though I am "absent" for a while, I always saved ( in my head) whatever it is that I will be blogging the next time I got the TIME!

By the way, during those days that I am focusing on the business, I am also attending to my sister-in-law who is a "balikbayan" from the United States. I will tell more about it but meanwhile, I am posting some photos that were taken during her vacation in our country. The local accomodation is at Manila Hotel & the tour included among others the following: Corregidor, Intramuros, San Agustin Church, Villa Escudero, Pagsanjan Falls and a few more that I forgot. Enjoy!

Vacation!

Hello! I made an account on Earth Cam last week. (Please click on the icon "Live Webcam" above to check my post there! Thank You so much!)
I am all excited to post the pictures taken when a sister-in-law of mine went on vacation in the Philippines. Most of these photos are taken on the different sites that were included in the tour package that was arranged by the Filipino community in Boston, Massachusetts. (By the way, I inserted some photos taken of myself but this was not part of the tour. I was on travel then handling 'Special Projects' for a fast food restaurant.)
